About: I am so thrilled to be offering this workshop.  It is one of the most spectacular destinations in Africa for the wildlife photographer. It is also incredibly popular and I have had to make reservations two and three years in advance.  I feel very fortunate to be able to offer spaces for 4 people in 2017 as 2018 is fully booked. We will be at Zimanga during the wild dog denning season and hopefully be able to spend time with and photograph the daily activities of the wild dog pack, to include darling images of the puppies! If you have ever thought if a safari in Africa but were hesitant about the heat and long dusty drives, then this is the trip for you.  You will see all the animals and birds you would see in the game parks, have air-conditioned hides to capture some stunning images while staying in luxury accommodations.

Where we will go:

Zimanga Private Game Reserve - Mkuze, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa - Our starting and ending point is Durban, South Africa.  Durban is approximately and hour's flight from Johannesburg, South Africa.

Where we will stay:

Lodging will be at the new luxury Zimanga Main Lodge, on the grounds of Zimanga Private Game Reserve, brand new and having six air-conditioned rooms with en-suite baths. Enjoy a fabulous view while lounging in a rim-flowed pool.   We'll have our own private driver/guide which enables us to plan our own itinerary each day.  The very professional owners and staff are dedicated to the very best in management of the wildlife.  They are also award winning photographers who truly know what wildlife photographers need are and how best to accommodate them.  All rooms have separate desks for your laptops so you can edit images with ample space and a variety of electrical couplings to make sure you equipment stays charged.  Free WiFi is also available.

One of the most spectacular things about Zimanga is their photographic hides, many of which are also air-conditioned.  The owner's worked with world class photographer Bence Mate from Hungry to help them create state of the art photographic hides, one of which ( Umgodi Overnight Hide) the  is an overnight hide complete with beds, kitchen and bathroom.  All the hides allow the photographer to shoot from eye level, with a clean background and a reflection pool which provides some incredible shots.
